Parisian Dreams
Have you ever wanted to travel to the most romantic city in the world? Come with me as I explore as much of the city within the span of 3 days x.
Jour 1
January 4th
Straight off the train we meet one of my friends Thomas at the station. I haven’t seen him since 2019 back in college so I’m super happy to reconnect. Traveling in a new city is the best when you can do it with a local. The day starts off with a bunch of walking and dropping off the luggage at a sort of locker room. Next thing on the agenda, Food! One thing about traveling is you create such an appetite exploring everywhere. We head to lunch at a quaint restaurant and head off to exploring more of the city. We stopped by Notre Dame and it is even more grand in person. Ever since the fires the construction has been kind of crazy. The rebuilding has taken some time but it the historical building needs to be preserved. More walking proceeds as head towards the Jardin du Luxembourg. This grand garden has wonderful architectural and foliage. We went all around and I felt the brisk fresh air of the new year. With all the steps I felt like I deserved a sweet treat so we all decided to have some delicious parisian sweets. Top tier delectable desserts that I dream about til this day. With the sugar boost we explored the city more and ended the day with a lovely dinner at Bouillon Chartier. Escargot, sangria, and steak frittes ended the whirlwind day.
Jour 2
January 5th
Well rested and ready for jour 2! Today we headed to the Opera at the Palais Garnier. Opulent, grand, and even more wondrous in person. I opted for a chic parisian-esque look adorned with a beret. I know don’t hate me! It went with the outfit and did you go to Paris if you didn’t wear your beret? Walking around the Opera House is like walking though a museum. The chandeliers, paintings, and mosaics adorn the area. The place is quite large and vast and I can spend all day here. All this exploring has made me hungry and we grab lunch at a nearby cafe. I opted for the savory crépe with burrata and I was delighted. My friends and I decided to get a flambé crepe because why not. Tastebuds satisfied we head to Galeries Lafayette. I believe this is where shopaholics meta is. The department store has over 7 levels of shopping and has a wonderful terrace that has breathtaking views of the city. I did get sidetracked by the cutest rhinestone Prada bags and was rethinking my life choices. Purse or another Europe trip? I had to cope somehow so it was okay. Maybe one day… The adventure continues and we head towards the Charles de Gaulle-Étoile. It is even grander in person and apparently you can pay tickets to go up? We opted out and were content of looking at its beauty on the street. Now that we were central we head towards the famous Eiffel Tower. Night has fallen and the famous landmark has lit up. Even more breathtaking in person I would have to say. Since it is the first week of the new year I would say the crowds aren’t as bad as they usually are. We walk up to Trocadero Gardens which I believe has the best views of the Eiffel without the hassle of the crowds. I finished the night off with some soup du jour and an aperol spritz. Bonne Nuit x.
